At its hub lies the famously cosmopolitan city of Paris which exudes style and flair whilst also steeped in hundreds of years of fascinating history. The city remains incredibly influential not only in intellectual, literary and artistic life but also now behaves as the centre of commerce in continental Europe. In this way the city mixes a unique blend of contrasts from its tiny alley-ways and old fashioned pedestrian arcades to its enormous commercial structures and extremely efficient underground system. However to many, the most attractive element of Paris exists in its wide variety of restaurants bars and cafes that line nearly every street and promenade creating a truly unique atmosphere.

Being so well situated and having such good transport links across France makes Paris such an easily accessible city. It has two large airports- Charles de Gaulle and Orly and a few main line TGV stations you are never far away from the next city (only 2hrs 35mins from London Waterloo on Eurostar).

Property for Sale in Ile de France

The price of property for sale in Paris is not much less than property in London and is the most expensive region in France. However, it is still possible to find a studio flat in the heart of Paris for about 100,000 Euros but of course this being the bottom end of the market means that you cannot expect very much. The most expensive properties are situated around Saint German in the 7eme arrondissement while the west 7eme offers more for your money. Much more competitive prices are to be found in the smart and exclusive 16eme which is still a very desirable place to live. More popular with foreign buyers however is the infamous Champs Elysees and its surrounding area due to its great central location. One of the cheapest areas in the city is Montmartre in the 18eme which is having a bit of a revival as an artists quarter while Le Marais or the Jewish quarter also offer cheaper alternatives. If you don’t mind being out of the city centre and are looking for something more tranquil then Versailles is a great option as property here is much cheaper and will offer more space and a garden. Boulogne, Neuilly, Saint-Cloud to the west also offer similar benefits of suburban life.
