Antibes is located between Nice and Cannes in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region and the Alpes-Maritimes department. Antibes ' wonderfully sandy beaches have given it the reputation as the most enjoyable place to be along the whole of the Mediterranean French Riviera. The harbour of Port Vauban is the largest marina in Europe and the centre of Mediterranean yachting. English speaking crew and yacht workers outnumber the French in many of the town’s bars. Juan Les Pins developed as a resort in the twenties with the construction of a casino. The clean, sandy beaches run over two miles from the base of Cap d’Antibes to Golfe Juan. Some parts of the beach are private but there are long stretches that are public. In July and August, Juan Les Pins is alive twenty four hours a day with its numerous night-clubs and live music venues and this is the ideal base for those that want to be on the beach all day and party all night.
