Argeles sur Mer is located on the Mediterranean coast in the Pyrenees Orientales department of the Languedoc Roussillon region, just 15 mins from Perpignan and 30 mins from the Spanish border. It is a great holiday destination as it offers glorious sandy beaches coupled with the dramatic mountain terrain of the Pyrenees only an hour away. Despite being incredibly popular during the summer months Argeles sur Mer still retains much of its Catalan charm- especially charming is the old town of Argeles with its narrow cobbled streets hosting its twice weekly local markets. On the beach it is more modern with a great selection of hotels, restaurants, shops and a good sized port for those lucky enough to have yachts.

The area is well-known for its wine production, dotted with hundreds of vineyards, and there are so many interesting and enjoyable places to visit on a day trip such as the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Salvador Dali museum in Figueres, northern Spain, the massive peak of Canigou (2784m), ski slopes at Andorra and Font Romeu in the Pyrenees and many more.

There are a number of nearby airports which include Perpignan, Carcassonne & Montpelier in France or Gerona and Barcelona in Spain- all accessible from various airports in the UK and Ireland.
