Donges is located in the departement of Loire Atlantique in the region of Pays de la Loire. Donges is located on the north shore of the Loire estuary, 10 km east of Saint-Nazaire. The village was destroyed during the bombings of 24 and 25 July 1944 and rebuilt at 1 km from the location initial.La current Donges refinery processed 11 million tons of crude oil per year. It is the second largest refinery in France. Two major monuments enrich the town, the Chapel of Good News seventeenth century and the Church.
