Located in Herault department and the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Close to Montpellier. Cap d’Agde is one of the largest beach resort in France. This huge leisure complex, only four km from the historic town of Agde, was mostly built in the 1960's around a small harbour at the foot of the extinct volcano of Mont St Loup. Among the many attractions of this enormous seaside playground are sports centres, a casino and giant leisure centres such as Aqualand. The Musee d'Ephèbe provides an interesting contrast, hosting various archaeological exhibitions. There are fine sandy beaches and black basalt cliffs, while just off shore is a volcanic island on which stands the 16th century Fort Brescou. The resort is equally famous to have Europe’s largest nudist village, located just to the north of the town.

Le Cap d’Agde is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Languedoc Roussillon as it has fine sandy beaches, a good sized harbour and a multitude of activities and attractions. It is situated at the cross-roads of the Herault River, the canal du Midi and the Mediterranean sea lulled by both fresh and sea water. This famous seaside resort, situated between two bustling cities- Beziers and Montpellier, has become an international tourist venue. Cap d’Agde is centred on its marina and has been awarded the national labels “Famille plus” and “Qualite Plages” for its great family atmosphere and fantastic beaches. New construction here is also banned due to an environment protection policy ensuring a wonderful environment but also great demand for property in Cap d’Agde. There are many seaside activities available but also golf and its many waterfront bars, cafes and restaurants are great for relaxing and having fun both during the day and night.
