Buying golf property in France

French golf property can offer better convenience, playing climate and green fees

People who used to purchase property in France bought for many reasons including a high quality of life, beautiful landscape and architecture, culture, fantastic food, delicious wines, proximity to the UK or perhaps the great climate - the list goes on!

Now though more and more people are waking up to the fact that France in fact has some of the best golf courses in the world. Seasoned golfers regularly visit the courses of Chantaco at St-Jean-de-Luz, Nimes Campagne in Gard, Etretat in Normandy, Albi Lasbordes in Tarn et Garonne and Pont-Royal near Marseille to name but a few.

Why choose a golf property in France?

The advantages that France has over other better known golfing destinations such as those found in Portugal and Spain include the climate is much more temperate, and the green fees and membership fees are far more reasonable.

During June, July and August when temperatures can reach a scorching 40 degrees in more southerly destinations and make playing a round of golf uncomfortable. In France these temperatures usually remain around 30 degrees Celsius in the south of the country making the round much more pleasurable. The clubs in France are also more exclusive and are often reserved for property owners in the club or members and their friends but green fees for a round on a decent course can often be as little as 10 Euros as opposed to far higher rates elsewhere.
