Loire-et-Cher
Loir-et-Cher is a department in north-central France and is part of the current region of Centre (Loire valley) and is surrounded by the departments of Eure-et-Loir, Loiret, Cher, Indre, Indre-et-Loire, and Sarthe.

Blois is the capital of the department, situated between Tours and Orleans- famous of its history; one of the towns considered as a much favoured retreat for French royalty in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Around the city there is the Foret de Blois in which nestle picturesque medieval villages and just outside of Blois there are also the Forests of Russy and Boulogne hiding many spectacular chateaux which most of the time are open to the public.
