Flaine
Flaine is a modern ski resort situated in the Haute Savoie department of the Rhone Alpes region. It is one of the closest resorts to Geneva airport and therefore offers great accessibility from the UK, Ireland and the rest of Europe. Flaine forms part of the Grand Massif ski area with slopes up to an altitude of 2500m and includes other ski stations such as Morillon, Samoens, Sixt-fer-a-Cheval and Les Carroz.
The family orientated resort offers many activities and has a lot of facilities to cater for the demanding holiday maker. These include its indoor pool, cultural centre, cinema studio, billiards and video games in its pubs and bars, indoor climbing, ice skating, top form centre and bowling alley. Flaine also has a classical music academy and a number of works of art and is the only resort to be listed on the French historic monuments inventory. The resort is known for its lively and convivial atmosphere and has numerous festivals, snow sports events and a carnival and with its great selection of bars, restaurants and shops there is plenty to do besides skiing. There is also an 18 hole golf course and great hiking and biking routes to bring you back in the summer months.
