Rennes
Situated in Ille et Vilaine, this is the capital of Brittany and centre of commerce in the region. Rennes is a cosmopolitan city with some distinctly Parisian architecture. It has four stylish squares, the main one being the “place des Lices” which is lined with crooked medieval houses and market stalls. The city has a reasonably sized student population and is accessible by good transport links by ferry, airlines and autoroutes.
