Located in the Bouches du Rhone department and the second largest city in France to Paris, the lively international city of Marseille has much to offer and although lacking the exclusivity of some seaside towns and villages does have some great attractions. The Vieux Port harbours hundreds of yachts which you can see from the rows of seafood restaurants and bars from where you can also see the two fortresses that guard entry to Marseille. For better views over the city then a visit to the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde is recommended. Much of the architecture is not very attractive but the city is undergoing a huge regeneration project which in time should make the entire city more appealing to tourists and international buyers. As a commercial hub, employment is good and there are plenty of entertaining things to do here not least exploring its attractive rocky bays slightly out of town.

Property for sale in Marseille is still expensive as it is a city. However, property rentals are very good all year round especially to students, but also to holiday-makers in the summer. Marseille also has an international airport.
