The 17th arrondissement is one of the 20 arrondissements that make up the city of Paris and is located on the right bank of the River Seine. It is not really a spot for tourists but is a very sought after residential area, the wealthier part of which is located in the South West of the arrondissement (which has two high-end shopping districts) while the less expensive area, with more bars and bistros and a slightly bohemian feel lies to the North East. You will find the Palais des Congres in the 17th, which is a large exhibition centre with a high rise hotel.
