Carnac is a seaside town in the department of Morbihan, Brittany in the north-west of France. It is known for its extensive prehistoric Neolithic Menhirs stone collection as well as its beaches which are very popular with tourists. The town itself is divided between the original Carnac-Ville and the seaside resort of Carnac-Plage which attracts many tourists in July and August. The town retains much of its charm and has plenty of greenery and trees while its 3km of sandy beaches are equally attractive. From Carnac it is easy to visit the other seaside resorts in southern Brittany like Quiberon or the larger town of Vannes with regular buses and trains.
