Situated in the south of the Champagne-Ardenne region in the south east of the Paris basin (1 h 30 from Paris), Aube contains 290,000 inhabitants among 433 communes. It has an attractive location because it is right next to Ile de France- the biggest French consumer market.

Aube is part of the famous region from where you can find rare, golden, bubbling wine whose name is synonymous with parties and of special events all around the globe: Champagne!
It is a land of lush fertile fields and dense forest,of which the most frequently visited is the Forêt d’Orient which is the Regional Nature Park. Les Grands Lacs- 5,000 hectares of lakes created to regulate the flow of the Aube River are also great for watersports of all kinds.

Troyes is the central town of Aube and the original capital of Champagne. It is steeped in history (A terrible fire of 1524 in which the greater part of the town was destroyed but it was rebuilt within its fortified surrounding walls…) and has maintained the commercial prosperity it created in medieval times through its famous champagne fairs in the second week in June. Also, Bar sur Aube has a Foire aux Vins de Champagne during the second week of September which attracts a lot of people.

Troyes also has some museums that have surprisingly fine, rich collections: the musée d'Art Moderne (museum of Modern Art), which is regally set in the superbly-restored former bishop's palace, which is attired with a plethora of great masters. Other famous spots are the Fine Art museum, the Tool Museum, the robotic exhibition.
