Great selection of property available now for you to buy in France
Leapfrog Properties have a large number of resale properties for you to buy throughout France which are popular for investment, holiday use or simply if you are emigrating to France. This includes a wonderful selection of villas, apartments, chalets, gites, chambre d’hotes, chateaux etc. Resale property can be a few years old to a few hundred years old and it is these older, charming stone-built properties which are most sought after by property hunters from overseas - although the more modern properties are also popular for those with a more contemporary taste. If it is older character properties you are after though, then France is an excellent place to start looking. France is also an incredibly rich and varied country with the mountains, the seaside and its spectacular countryside. Combined with its relaxed but safe lifestyle, culture , history and temperate climate, it is no wonder so many people are drawn to this wonderful country.
Resale vs new build property
The advantage of buying an existing property rather than off-plan, new build is that you can go and visit it and really get a feel for the property and its surroundings before you buy. The main drawbacks compared to new build property though is that notaire fees are higher if more than 5 years old (7-8% rather than 2-3%) and if more than 10 years old then there are also no build guarantees in place (unless extensive renovation has been done in which case the guarantees only apply to the work that has been done). As such a thorough inspection of the property and its structure is recommended before signing a purchase contract.
