Courchevel, located in the Savoie department of the Rhone-Alpes region is one of the best and most famous ski resorts in the world and forms part of the “Big Three” in the ski zone known as the “Three Valleys” which together form 600km of ski runs. Courchevel itself however is made up of 150km of ski slopes over an area of 1,304 acres of mountain. The summit of the Three Valleys is at 3266m at Val Thorens but you can enjoy skiing up to a an altitude of 2700m. There are a wide variety of activities available in both winter and summer and Courchevel is full of bars, restaurants and shops to entertain you when you are not skiing. The resort itself is really made up of four resorts with their own entertainment and facilities. These include Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz), Courchevel 1550 (original Courchevel), Courchevel 1650 (Moriond), Courchevel 1850.
