Grande-Motte
Located in Herault department and the Languedoc-Roussillon region. close to Montpellier and cultural Roman towns such as Nimes-La Grande Motte is one of the main beach resorts of the Languedoc region.
The littoral shows a balance between ground and sea, hills and various local cultivated lands. The resort is characterised by its distinctive pyramidal buildings, inspired by the pyramids of Mexico and has a big yard harbour where you will see huge yachts, but also many tourist shops and lots of restaurants, serving fresh seafood in abundance.
La Grande Motte is understandably popular with families, as the beaches are very safe, and there are plenty of activities and attractions to keep children entertained. It is also popular with young people and in winter with older holiday makers, many of whom have a second home here. A few Brits and Northern Europeans have also bought property here.

La Grande Motte is only about 15 minutes from Montpellier airport and less than an hour from Nimes airport. Like most developments with a coastal setting, La Grande Motte property prices depend very much on where in the development you are. Obviously a sea view will command a much higher price that an inland view. Prices of property in La Grande motte can range from around 70,000€ for a studio apartment, to more than 400,000€ for a luxury flat with terrasse and garage.
