Situated in the Bas-Rhin department, Strasbourg is an historic town that is full of character and has been labelled a world heritage site. It has a medieval city centre with cobbled streets and pretty half-timbered houses criss-crossed by a network of Canals and really revels in its historic importance. It has both French and German influences as it has changed hands a number of times and this influence has shaped the town into what it is today.
