Located in the Var department, Saint Tropez is still seen as a playground for the rich and famous. This exclusive resort attracts tourists from all over the world to revel in its many waterfront restaurants and bars and nightclubs or to venture round the market stalls selling everything from herbs and spices to paintings of the Provencal countryside. Many multi-million pound yachts dock at the harbour here during the summer and, at night time when all is lit up, looks quite spectacular. You can relax at nearby beaches and swimming pools during the day and top up your tan in this warm, sunny climate or peruse its many chic fashion shops, tiny squares or pastel-coloured villas and apartments.

Property for sale in Saint Tropez are some of the most expensive in France and there are no renovation properties to pick up. Rental here however is very good during the summer, can still bring in something during the winter and is seen as a safe investment.
For cheaper property (although still expensive), just a short drive away from St Tropez is St Maxime which is more of a family orientated resort and not so built up as St Tropez. The beaches in Saint Maxime are cleaner but can still get very crowded during the summer months and if you get bored there are plenty of restaurants and a nearby golf club, while at night the many market stalls and shops will keep you interested.
