The 4th arrondissement is one of the 20 arrondissements that make up the city of Paris and is located on the right bank of the River Seine. A good part of it used to be the medieval area of Paris and you can still see some of this in the architecture and narrow streets. Known as Le Marais district the 3rd arrondissement contains the renaissance Paris City Hall and the square “Place des Vosges”. It is however modern and lively too with a contemporary art gallery at the Centre Georges Pompidou and has a buzzing nightlife which is known for its gay atmosphere but is just as much fun for straight singles and groups out to have a good time. The area is known for its cosmopolitan inhabitants and old buildings with plenty of little streets, cafes and shops.

This is a very sought after part of Paris and is rather expensive although like the other central districts of Paris rents out very well and because of its multi-cultural but charming atmosphere and architecture is popular with tourists and so rents out well on short term lets too.
